Botlhale Whispers: Be Your Best Self Conference 2026

On the 29th of August 2026, I had the opportunity to programme direct a Women’s Day conference themed Be Your Best Self.

When the founder approached me about the event, I did not expect her to consider me as a programme director. I listened to her share her intentions, plans and coordination for the event. It was when she began deeply elaborating on the purpose of the event that it sparked an interest in me. 

Be your best self, I thought to myself. What a theme. One that requires deep reflection.

Immediately, I began to dig deep and reflect on my own life. Not because I was the speaker at the event, but because themes about self require honest conversations. You know the conversations that you have with yourself and the whispers you share with God in your secret place–those ones. 

Then it dawned on me: as a programme director, my responsibility goes far beyond directing the programme. My responsibility was not only to introduce the speakers, but to set the tone for the event and give meaning to it using my own life. It was about creating a room deeply governed by purpose and an infectious sense of belonging. 

Well, I can safely say that I delivered to the best of my ability. 

However, the blessing which I do not take for granted, was being in a room full of gifted and purpose-driven women who shared their life stories. The guest speakers used their lived experiences to birth hope and whisper healing to me. Because stories told with intention shift perspectives and bring alignment.

Alignment Came Right On Time

Being your best self is a journey, one that requires you to be present. It is not about perfection; it simply entails rising to the occasion, even on difficult days. Showing up as your best self requires you to choose yourself. 

You choose yourself not with the intent to neglect your loved ones, but because your life matters. Before you became, you were destined to fulfill your purpose. 

Being your best self is about loving yourself enough to walk away from situations that do not serve you. You forgive yourself for the promises you made to yourself but did not fulfill. You forgive others because, as you age with grace you realise that many are broken and projecting their fears onto you. 

You allow God to write your story –not you–because we have a tendency to plan from a place of fear. 

You heal because every step closer to your destiny requires the healed version of yourself. 

What can I say? What a spirit-filled and mighty event. 

The Be Your Best Self  Women’s Conference 2026 did what is intended to do: gather beautiful women across all walks of life, minister to them through lived experiences and reminded them that they matter. 

My heart is full of gratitude. 

It goes without saying, let me use this platform to thank the organisers and amplify the Be Your Best Self Conference 2026. This Women’s conference met all our expectations with grace, revived our souls and ministered healing that we did not know we needed. 

It showed up and showed off. 

We hope to attract more women to be part of the 2027 cohort.
