STORY TIME

The founder of Botlhale Hub Afrika is Phiwe Mncwabe. She is South African born, however considers herself as a Global citizen.

When she was an eight-year-old little girl she received a two in one tape recorder and radio for her birthday from her late grandmother. She was a very little inquisitive girl demanding grown-ups to have conversations with her because of her present. She always wondered how people lived in other countries.

This girl always wondered how people could live in a world as human beings yet be so different. From cultures, interests, race and beliefs people differed. People differed however; it did not alter their existence. She explored some of the countries with exciting books. She learnt about fufu and gender inequality because of Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche. She has seen the importance of storytelling because of Chinua Achebe. She has seen the impact that patriarchy has in Africa from Tsitsi Dangarembga . She understood the importance of taking up spaces because of Dr Judy Dlamini. She respects the arts because of Zakes Mda. There are many more she looks up to.

She is a lover of African literature, reading and storytelling.

She is very inquisitive.
