Reflecting on the significance of the day of reconciliation in South Africa

Happy New Year
January 2, 2025

I have been reflecting about the year 2024.

As the year draws to an end, I wanted to share one of the most important personal development lessons that I will carry into 2025. But first, let me begin to express my warmest gratitude to the Botlhale Hub Afrika community. Thank you so much for your continued support. Our readership immensely increased in 2024. We have also seen an improvement with our engagement rate and will forever remain grateful.

Thank you so much for the love and support. It is personally humbling to see the community growing on and offline. I count myself blessed and highly favoured to have a community that takes an interest in our stories. Ngiyabonga kakhulu, makwande kukhanya. I promise to continue to spread the gospel of Africa with more insightful storytelling in 2025.

With that said, this year was a very evaluative year in terms of my personal development.

I personally witnessed the gift of people. As a serial networker on and offline, I have learnt that people are a gift to humanity. People are gifts to the world. We need people and there are people who need us. People have the ability to help unlock destinies. There are people who are sent to speak on our behalf. There are people placed in our lives to help us fulfill purpose. Therefore, it is very crucial for us to see the value in people and in ourselves.

In 2024, I personally encountered the gift of people. With my encounter, I have had to surrender to purpose and understand that I cannot make it alone. I have had to be humble enough to embrace that there are people more wiser and  knowledgeable than I am. I have had to humble myself to the familiar and break patterns. I have had to humble myself to be guided and held accountable to my purpose. This indeed was a blessing.

You are probably asking yourself why I am sharing this right? The answer is simple. Sometimes we get so caught up in chasing our goals, that what we don’t realise in the process is that we need help. We don’t always have everything figured out. We need people to hear us out and help push us a little into the right direction. That’s where the gift of people comes play.

Well, the right people sent by God will add value in your life. I also believe that it is our responsibility to add value in people’s lives.

Be humble enough to seek out help when needed because indeed people are a gift to us. I hope there is grace for you to add value in people’s lives and be a gift to people.

I hope I can add value to the lives of others in 2025.
