Nomcebo Mncube is a 28-year-old, God fearing, young woman, selfless, ambitious, goal driven and  not afraid of change. She loves challenges and constantly sets goals for herself because she wants to thrive. She has a big heart, peoples-person, loves meeting new people and she is diverse. She loves to make people feel comfortable in her presence.

Nomcebo  was born and bred in Newcastle (KwaZulu-Natal) in a small township called Madadeni. She  studied her Bachelor of Arts in Communications at the North-West University VTC.

She has had the opportunity of working for one of the biggest universities in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), which is the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She  has worked as Public Relations intern for the period of eighteen (18) months from 1st  April 2016 – 30th September 2017. Nomcebo was involved with the coordination of corporate events, researched, and wrote online articles for the university. When her contract was terminated, she for worked Peace Corps South Africa for a period of 6 months, as Language & Cross-cultural Facilitator, where she was teaching IsiZulu to Peace Corps Trainees from America.

She has been on the market since 2019 April and is actively seeking.

Nomcebo shared that being unemployed can make one to have low self-esteem, not being able to afford cosmetics and other essentials may drive one to considering prostitution. She added by placing emphasis on the negative impact mentally especially, when no recruiters respond to applications made. To have people being dependant on you, can have one feeling helpless. She shared that depression and suicidal thoughts tend to linger.

Nomcebo shared that Covid-19 affected her terribly because she was supposed start working for Peace Corps South Africa, as a Language and cross-cultural facilitator. Unfortunately ,due to the pandemic everything was put on hold.

Nomcebo is currently looking for entry level or volunteering opportunities in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism and Events Coordinator, Admin and secretary roles.

She is ambitious, creative, team and goal-oriented, a self-motivated person with a dynamic outlook on life and a strong desire to succeed. She loves challenges and is not afraid of change. She is eager to learn and enjoys working as part of a team.

She has solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with individuals at all levels. She  also has talents in writing, creating and producing communication pieces. As well as planning and coordinating corporate events. Her organisational skills have allowed her to prioritise schedules and consistently complete task assigned to her within challenging times.

In addition, her eighteen (18) months of experience at the University of KwaZulu-Natal as a public relations intern, has allowed her to develop exceptional skills in thinking on her feet and problem solving.
