Story Time

It is that time of the year where we are reflecting and also preparing to make changes in our lives. One of the changes, which I believe that need to make it to the top of our priority list is abandoning your comfort zone. Leaving the familiar for the unknown or just taking a leap of faith.

We have a tendency of devaluing how being in a comfort zone can impact your life negatively. Being comfortable can limit you in various ways. On many occasions it also adds to the fear of the unknown. Not to say, we aren’t already living in uncertainty however, we cannot afford to let uncertainty influence every part of our lives. Life in general has always been uncertain.

Being comfortable is an unhealthy aspect of our lives that deprives us of growth.

Friends or network

You have had the same circle of friends your entire existence. You don’t want to mingle with other people that come from different walks of life. All your friends or associates are just like you. They grew up in the same village and went to the same school with you.

If that is the case for you, maybe its time for you to widen your friends and network. How do you expect to get better opportunities with a network that is not diverse?

In 2022, maybe its time you consider diversifying your network or friends.

Opportunities

You are looking for better opportunities however, you still consider location, surroundings, same sector etc. Maybe you should ask yourself if you truly want opportunities because sometimes the opportunities, we seek may not be in an area we live or industry that we are familiar with. However, that does not mean that we shouldn’t be open to change.

Opportunities don’t come written “this is the right one”. Opportunities are “let me take this opportunity and see how it unfolds”.

In 2022, even in uncertainty go for it.

Location

Location is what restricts so many people. Being area bound impacts your growth whether be career or personal development. That one move to a different city or country could change your life for the better. You never know unless you try.

Let 2022, be the year where you step out of your location.

Comfort zones are there to hinder your growth. Be courageous enough to abandon your comfort zone in 2022.

We need to unlearn what we were taught about life being unfair. Life is fair, it is the situations that we find ourselves in that are unfair! Live your life boldly and fully. Don’t let fear govern you. Be led by faith, everything else will fall into place.

You just never know where you can end up.
